Looks like another group is branching off to do solo projects, Brandon Flowers from The Killers has announced via his website that he’s going solo. The “Human” hitmaker will release his first solo album, “Flamingo”, later this year. The news marked the launch of the rocker’s own website BrandonFlowersMusic.com.
The Killers have laid low from touring and music at the top of 2010 due to the passing of Flowers mother. The Killers drummer Ronnie Vannucci is doing a side project as well. No dates have been confirmed for either project, but you can sign up to Brandon’s website for news. I know I did, The Killers is the best band! Yeah I Said it!

Nas has had to scrap his upcoming London concert with Damian Marley as a result of the flight chaos caused by the volcanic eruption in Iceland. Air travel across the whole of Europe has been disrupted for days due to the heavy cloud of volcanic ash floating above the continent, which can cause jet engines to fail.
Over 63,000 flights have been canceled, costing airlines $200 million a day and affecting six million passengers worldwide – and Nas and Marley are among those who have been forced to alter their travel plans.
The pair was due to perform at London’s Electric Ballroom on Wednesday, April 21 in support of their new collaborative album, “Distant Relatives” – but that show has now been shelved because they are unable to fly over from the U.S.

Incarcerated Lil Wayne is set to become a star of a documentary which was filmed as the rapper was counting down to jail. The “Lollipop” hitmaker’s pal, DJ Scoob Doo, was on hand to capture the star’s final days of freedom on camera as March sentencing date for a weapons possession charge loomed.
He began his year-long stint in maximum-security New York prison Rikers Island in March but fans won’t be without Wayne for long – the DJ is in talks with a number of U.S. cable networks to release the home video footage as a behind-the-scenes TV documentary named “Road to Rikers”.
DJ Doo tells hip-hop publication XXLMag, “You could just imagine what I could have (filmed) just being with the team, and being with Wayne on his countdown to jail and even when he didn’t know he was going to jail.” Last week Wayne launched a new website in a bid to stay in contact with his fans during his stint behind bars.

Rumor that Dr. Dre and Jay-Z have teamed up on a new song has been confirmed by Interscope Records Chairman Jimmy Iovine. The label boss talked about the joint track in a launch party of new Red Sox edition of “Beats by Dr. Dre” headphones.
” ‘Under Pressure’ it’s a brand new single from Dr. Dre and Jay-Z,” so Iovine said at the event taking place at Boston’s Fenway Park on March 4 during the opening day of the 2010 Major League Baseball season. He didn’t disclose when the song will come out, but report suggests it will be released sometime soon.
The song is likely to be included in Dr. Dre’s next studio album “Detox” because the producer/rapper has hinted the collaboration since October last year. He told MTV, “Well, actually, Jay-Z’s just been in the studio doing some writing. — Hopefully I’ll get him to perform on the record. Jay, come holler!”
